Government jobs in India are considered to be a boon in disguise. If a person gets employed in a public sector company, people start looking up to him as if he has achieved what no other could ever do. Yes, govt jobs in India are always preferred over private sector jobs The reason behind this is the sense of security one feels in the govt jobs in India and the assurance one gets in that job can’t be obtained from any job in the private companies. There is no factor that can cause losses or decline in the government sector. But if one contemplates on the issue, many points will spring up in mind that will question the general notion of the people that govt jobs in India are better. Firstly, the growth of an individual in a govt job in India is very limited, i.e. one might retire from the same post even though he has worked in the same post for 35 years. Secondly, the salary of a government employee is quite less than those in the private jobs. Thirdly, Government jobs in India are mundane, dull and lack creativity. There is no scope of challenges from which you can learn and gain experience as you work. Lastly, you can’t switch jobs so easily if the need arises for you to transfer to another place which is very easy in private sector. Although Government jobs in India can offer you a steady life, but it cannot offer growth of your career, challenges and creativity and a large amount of money if you want to live a life of luxuries, unlike a job in the private sector. |
